Eye-Fi memory card with Wi-Fi

Eye-Fi, maker of flash memory cards with built-in Wi-Fi for uploading images straight from cameras to PCs or the Web, is branching out into video. At the Consumer Electronics Show, the company is showing new technology that will let users wirelessly upload videos from their cameras to YouTube.

Eye-Fi says it expects to make the technology available to its customers "later in 2009," but details on the rollout are not currently available. A spokesperson says the technology will support all video formats that a still camera can capture.

Earlier this week, at Macworld Expo, Eye-Fi announced an iPhone app for uploading iPhone-captured images to PCs and photo-sharing sites. The company says the application will be available at the iTunes App Store "later in 2009."
