Members of the Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD camps showed off competing, next-generation DVD products at Cebit 2007 in Hannover, Germany. Sony, Optiarc, and Sharp displayed their latest Blu-ray Disc drives. Optical media makers pushed optical discs in both formats. And Toshiba, the captain of the HD DVD camp, showed off laptops in conjunction with Asus and HP. Noticeably missing was the LG dual-format optical drive that was announced at CES 2007.
