Play Hard Sports has announced a re-branding. The Foxboro, Mass.-based Flash game developer is now calling itself Quick Hit, and has announced it has signed former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher as "Coach" of its 2009 launch of Quick Hit Football.

Quick Hit Football is a free-to-play online football game that leverages Adobe Flash technology, playable in standard Web browsers. Players are coaches of their own customizable football teams, with a goal of "rising in the ranks and establishing a dynasty" against other teams.

Cowher will lend his voice to the game in color commentary and analysis. He'll also be available to give players advice on the best plays to call during the game.

Quick Hit Football will officially launch concurrently with the 2009 NFL Football season, but will enter an open beta period in a few months. Players interested in participating in the beta can sign up on the Quick Hit Web site.
