Apple Releases MacBook SMC Update 1.3

Apple on Tuesday released MacBook SMC Update 1.3, a firmware update for the polycarbonate (white) MacBook model with Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics, which was released in early 2009. The update improves startup time on some MacBooks when starting up from the battery, and "improves overall system stability and performance" as well.

In October 2008, Apple redesigned the MacBook with a new unibody aluminum enclosure and upgraded internal parts, but kept selling a US$999 white MacBook alongside the new models. Apple then quietly upgraded the polycarbonate MacBook with more-powerful graphics in January.
