Intel Teases Guitar Hero World Tour for Windows

Matt Peckham

Do we really need a PC version of Guitar Hero World Tour? I guess so, according to Intel, who just let the cat out of the bag about a Windows version of the latest rockin' rhythm iteration of Activision's Guitar Hero franchise, to debut at CeBIT 2009 next week.

Of the many games in the mega-popular Guitar Hero family, only two have been ported from console to PC — Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and more recently, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

What do you make of it Windows gamers? How many of you don't own this for one of your consoles? What do you think...will it be Games For Windows Live enabled? (Magic 8-Ball says "Yeah, right.") And does the sadly predictable lag on the Windows port of a game that's been out since last October kind of put you off the whole thing?

Matt Peckham's still waiting for Guitar Hero's keyboard accessory (as in over-the-shoulder ebony-and-ivory) and a downloadable version of Chick Corea 's "Jammin E. Cricket." You can follow him twitter.com/game_on.
