Perfect Posture
How you sit while you work on your PC can help you avoid repetitive stress injury.
Check out the diagram below to learn how you can improve your desk posture. By changing a few bad habits, and perhaps making a few adjustments to your workspace, you can work longer and feel better while doing it.
- Wear a phone headset to keep your neck and shoulders
strain-free.
- Adjust your monitor so the area you spend the most time
looking at is straight ahead.
- If you use a document holder, position
its height along the same line of vision as your monitor.
- Keep your
shoulders back and relaxed.
- Hold your forearms at a right angle to
your body, parallel to the floor. Keep your arms close to your body.
-
Keep your wrists straight (no flexing!) and curve your fingers gently while
you type.
- Use a chair with an adjustable backrest, so it
can support your lower back.
- Keep your thighs parallel to the floor
and your feet flat on the floor or on a footrest.
