The four people involved in running The Pirate Bay file-sharing Web site have been found guilty of being accessories to crimes against copyright law. Swedish police raided the company that hosted The Pirate Bay servers in May 2006; charges were then filed in January 2008, and the district court trial ended on March 3rd after some of the original charges being dropped. They were each sentenced to a year in jail and a collective fine of $3.6 million. The defendants have three weeks to appeal the judgement.
