Love Letter Turns Global
E-mail virus spreads very quickly via Microsoft Outlook.
Terho Uimonen, IDG News Service
A new Internet virus that spreads via an e-mail message purporting to be a love letter is wreaking havoc around the globe.
Hundreds of thousands of computers are already estimated to be hit by the virus, said to spread via Microsoft Outlook or certain IRC chat services. It was detected only this morning, according to information on several antivirus software vendor sites.
Sites throughout Europe and Asia have reported being hit by the virus, and companies in the U.S. are reporting that it is starting to affect them as well.
