A cellphone manufactured by Sharp and on sale in Japan features a built-in solar panel to recharge the phone's battery. Left in sunlight long enough, the battery will recharge to about 80 percent of capacity. Samsung and LG already have announced prototypes of solar-powered mobile phones, but those are not yet on the market.
