ATI All-in-Wonder 128 Pro

WHAT'S HOT: ATI's All-in-Wonder 128 Pro comes chock full of video options. Budding filmmakers will appreciate the S-Video and composite video-in connectors and the included video editing software. Connections are also provided to send video out to a TV or VCR. An integrated TV tuner lets you watch and capture your favorite shows on your PC.

WHAT'S NOT: This board's performance doesn't match up with the high $299 price. The All-in-Wonder 128 Pro limped along, running Quake III at half the speed of the fastest boards we've tested. And the image quality in Unreal Tournament was only fair: Details such as gratings disappeared at shorter distances than they did with other cards.

WHAT ELSE: The bundled software includes Ulead Video Studio and two 3D games, Activision's Heavy Gear 2 and GT Interactive's Need For Speed IV.

BEST USE: Checking TV broadcast news on your PC and performing some simple video editing might justify your purchasing this board. Consider it alongside Matrox's Marvel G400-TV; both offer all-in-one solutions for bringing TV and video to your computer screen. We give the G400-TV the nod for its slight advantage in gaming performance and innovative dual-display technology.
