Caught in the Web

This version of Kleptomania offers some handy Web interactivity, as well. When you highlight an e-mail address, you can ask Kleptomania to start your default e-mail program, creating an e-mail message addressed to that recipient. When highlighting a URL, you can choose to have the program open your default Web browser, and send you to that particular Web page. When you're copying text, a dialog box offers you the option to send a selected word or phrase to one of several popular Internet search engines--AltaVista, Excite, Deja, or Yahoo.

Version 2.1 also accommodates small serif fonts, such as Times 8 and MS Serif 8, and it can capture lines of text that contain multiple colors, fonts, and styles. However, you're limited to capturing only what's visible on a single screen; if you try to capture a long document that requires you to scroll, you're better off using Ctrl-C to copy the text to the Clipboard.

Kleptomania 2.1 is available from the Structu Rise Web site, and you can download a free 21-day trial copy. Kleptomania has a few minor quirks, but if you're constantly cutting and pasting between Windows programs, you'll be pleased with the efficiency and added functionality of this utility.
