Electronic Arts (EA) on Monday announced the first expansion pack for The Sims 3--The Sims 3 World Adventures. It'll be released for Mac and Windows on November 16, 2009.
The Sims 3 was released simultaneously for both Mac and Windows in June, along with a version for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's the latest major installment to the long-running game franchise that puts you in charge of virtual people's lives, making decisions that affect where they live, who they're friends with, what career they'll have and how they'll decorate their home.
This new expansion pack lets you take your Sims on a trip around the world to seek out adventure. You can go to locations including China, France and Egypt, helping your sims search for secret treasures, learn new skills and pursue new opportunities. Buyers of the expansion pack with also receive 1,000 "SimPoints"--in-game currency that can be used to buy content exclusively available at The Sims 3 Store, an online e-store containing items that Sims can use within the game.
EA noted that The Sims 3 World Adventures will be available for the iPhone and the iPod touch in early 2010, to be published by EA Mobile. The iPhone version will include "customized mobile gameplay" which EA Mobile will introduce in the coming months.
