AIM allows you to set up real-time chat sessions with multiple AIM users. These sessions are called Buddy Chats.
To start a Buddy Chat, right-click on any AIM user in the contact list, and select Send Buddy Chat Invitation. To add other folks to your chat, select People, Invite a Buddy in the Buddy Chat window, then type the AIM user name of the buddy you'd like to add and then click send.
You can also start a Buddy Chat with multiple buddies at once. Hold down the Ctrl key while you select all the AIM users in your contact list that you want to invite to the chat, then right-click any of them and select Send Buddy Chat Invitation to get everyone at once.
