AIM for the Dock
Set AIM 4.0 to dock your buddy list to the right side of your Windows desktop.
AIM 4.0 allows you to "dock" your Buddy List--attach it to an edge of your Windows desktop--so it doesn't get lost under other windows. Docking the AIM list isn't the same as setting it to be always on top; the Buddy List becomes the left or right edge of the workable desktop. Other apps, when their windows are maximized, only maximize as far as the edge of the AIM window. This reduces your available desktop space, but it keeps AIM in ready view.
To dock the list, select My AIM, Edit Options, Edit Preferences, select the Buddy tab, and then check the box in front of "Buddy List window can be 'docked' on left or right of screen." Click OK or Apply and then drag your buddy list to the far left or the far right. It will automatically "dock" and move other applications out of the way.
To minimize a docked Buddy List, right-click on the titlebar and click Minimize. To undock the Buddy List, drag the window away from the edge.
