Seek Other ICQers

Let ICQ scan your e-mail address books to find other ICQ users.

ICQ 2000a can search through your e-mail programs' address books and match e-mail addresses to ICQ users' account numbers, which can make it easier to find and talk to friends who use ICQ.

To perform a search, click ICQ, Add/Invite Users, Invitation to Join ICQ, then click the "Search address books on my computer" button. ICQ will scan your system for address books and then cross-check the e-mail address entries against ICQ's master database of ICQ users. Click the down-arrow button to view the results. You'll have the option to add ICQ users to your contact list by checking the box in front of their e-mail address in the upper window. You can also send an invitation to join ICQ to the users in the lower half of this dialog by checking the box next to their names. (Add a personal message to the invitation letter in the bottom text field if you like.) When you're finished, click "Add Users/Send Invitation."
