Super Mario Kart, Bit Trip Void Hit Wii

Super Mario Kart

Of all the Mario Kart games, the best was probably the first, and now you can see why for 800 Wii Points, or about eight US dollars. We're talking the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) original here, born 17 years ago in 1992. It supported 1 to 2 players, packed eight playable Mario-verse characters, and offered three championship cups divvied into three distinct 'kart' classes.

If you'd rather retro forward than backward, the third installment in the BIT.TRIP "retro-arcade" saga is also available for 600 Wii Points ($6). Here's Nintendo's description:

The third installment in the retro-arcade BIT.TRIP saga is a synesthetic exploration of rhythm and music as they pertain to our everyday lives and moods. With a control scheme that's new to the series yet wholly familiar to gamers, players have complete freedom to move about the screen wherever they desire, interacting with the music in brand new ways. The classic game-play aesthetic remains as color - and the absence of color - are explored to the fullest. Trip out in four-player co-op and get lost in the beat with a friend. See if you can survive the onslaught of Beats and further your own BIT.TRIP.

The rest of the Wii (WiiWare, Virtual Console) adds:

Harvest Moon: My Little Shop (1,200 Wii Points)
Little Tournament Over Yonder (800 Wii Points)
Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 1 (500 Wii Points)
A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia (500 Wii Points)

And the DSiWare additions:

Castle Of Magic (500 Nintendo DSi Points)
myNotebook: Blue (200 Nintendo DSi Points)
Electroplankton Luminarrow (200 Nintendo DSi Points)
Electroplankton Sun-Animalcule (200 Nintendo DSi Points)
Electroplankton Lumiloop (200 Nintendo DSi Points)
Electroplankton Marine-Crystals (200 Nintendo DSi Points)
Electroplankton Varvoice (200 Nintendo DSi Points)
