Deals of the Week

We'll show you where to find the best prices on an unlocked Pharos smartphone, a Kodak pocket camcorder, a refurbished iPod, and more.

Pharos Traveler 127 GPS Unlocked Smartphone -- $269

The Pharos Traveler 127 doesn't match the BlackBerry Curve's elegance in design or interface--but right now, at Dell's site, it isn't priced like a BlackBerry either. This solidly made phone with a worthy touchscreen is on sale for $269 (after an instant savings of over $170 plus a $30 mail-in rebate). The Traveler 127 has a lackluster keyboard and Windows Mobile, two attributes that made us question whether it was worth its initial retail price of $530 in our review. But if you're looking for an unlocked smartphone with speedy Internet browsing and excellent GPS capabilities (Smart Navigator software included), this deal is for you.

Logitech Performance Mouse MX -- $60

At Amazon, Logitech's Performance Mouse MX is marked down from its normal retail price of $100 to $60 (after a $20 mail-in rebate), and it qualifies for free shipping. This high-end wireless mouse is designed to counteract the normal limitations of laser mice (namely, glass and glossy surfaces) with Darkfield Laser Tracking technology. The full-size mouse is a right-handed model, and features an ergonomic shape and both hyperfast and regular scrolling modes. It also uses Logitech's Unifying receiver, which enables support for up to six wireless devices on just one USB port--so you can leave your desk behind and go compute in peace, wherever you like.

HP Officejet 7000 Wide-Format Printer -- $150

For anyone looking to print larger documents, Office Depot has the Officejet 7000 wide-format, color inkjet printer on sale for $150 (a savings of $80). It can print on a variety of paper sizes (up to 13 by 19 inches), and wireless networking lets you connect up to five computers. In our review, we noted that the Officejet 7000 tended to oversaturate photo paper but performed well when printing on plain paper. With a relatively quick printing time and reasonable ink costs, it would be a great addition for a home office--but not so ideal for personal use.

Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera Camcorder (Red) -- $100

Kodak recently came out with a newer model, the impressive Zi8 (which retails for $180), but the Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera, a longtime favorite, is on sale at OfficeMax for $100 with free shipping. This all-around great camcorder was one of the first to feature HD (it shoots in three video modes), and it captures 3-megapixel still images. The simple-to-use Zi6 also has a crisp, roomy 2.4-inch screen, and it captures vibrant colors well.

The Zi8 boasts enhanced image quality and a microphone jack (among other improvements over the Zi6). Is the newer model worth an extra $80? That depends on your needs. Check out our Pocket HD Camcorders Buying Guide for some guidance.

Apple iPod Classic 160GB (Refurbished) -- $199

If space is your primary concern when it comes to an MP3 player, this Apple-certified refurbished 160GB iPod Classic (previous generation) may be for you. Capable of storing up to 40,000 songs, it costs exactly as much as an 8GB iPod Touch (which holds only 1750 songs) and $50 less than a new iPod Classic. Better yet, it comes with Apple's one-year limited warranty, as well as a new battery, outer shell, and headphones.
