Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3: First USB 3.0 Motherboard with USB-IF Certification

It feels great to be first--just ask Gigabyte, whose latest USB 3.0-equipped motherboard has become the first motherboard in the world to receive USB-IF certification. Having received USB-IF certification, the GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard assures users that they will be provided with all of the speed and power efficiency enhancements that SuperSpeed has to offer.

USB 3.0 is one of the latest innovations to the hardware peripherals market and is the next step in USB technology. USB 3.0 includes a plethora of enhancements over USB 2.0 such as 10x boost in data transfer speed (up to 5Gbps) while maintaining compatibility with existing USB 2.0 products.

The GA-P55A-UD3 received its certification after passing through strict compliance and product quality testing by the USB-IF (Universal Serial Bus-Implementers Forum). It'll be the world’s first motherboard qualified to brandish the SuperSpeed USB logo.

Head over to Gigabyte for full specs. Other GIGABYTE motherboard models with onboard USB 3.0 are currently being tested and are expected to pass certification within the next couple of weeks.
