WHAT'S HOT: You will especially like this monitor if you work with word processing and spreadsheet programs: It scored high in this pack of monitors on our font legibility tests and respectably in our spreadsheet test. It offers quick, one-touch access to brightness and contrast adjustments, should you need to tweak the settings to get a better view of the text.
WHAT'S NOT: This is not the best monitor for viewing graphics: It garnered a score of only Satisfactory on our graphics evaluations and had the most difficulty with our three photograph display tests. While the performance is low, the price isn't, at $455.
WHAT ELSE: Tech support is limited to 11.5 hours on weekdays, with no coverage on weekends.
BEST USE: The Hitachi CM772 is a serviceable monitor for run-of-the-mill office tasks, but other monitors look better and cost less.
