Samsung's 3D HDTVs Starting to Hit The Market

Despite some conflicting reports across the Web, and no definitive announcement from Samsung, the company's three-dimensional TV sets now appear to be available.

Samsung first revealed its lineup of 3D capable HDTVs back in 2009. Since then, Samsung claimed to be the first company to start mass-production of 3D TV sets, and announced that 3D HDTVs would hit the market during the first half of this year.

However, several conflicting reports have recently sprung up, all offering differing timescales for the pricey TV's general availability. The confusion began when one source claimed that Samsung's 3D-Ready offerings will be launching,. This news was backed up by comments from Samsung's current President. Others said that the new TV's will be yours for the taking as early as this week.

Samsung has not officially commented on the impending launch, except to say that the new TVs will launch in the UK next month.

Sears is already selling Samsung's 3D sets, and they've been listed on the Sears Web site since February 21. Amazon also started listing the TVs as in stock this week.
