Even though the iPad doesn’t ship for a couple weeks, vendors have wasted no time in preparing all manner of cases: sleeves, backpacks, messenger bags, and more. Here are 15 of the more photogenic products we've seen so far. For details on these and many others, check out our roundup of iPad cases and bags.
Be.ez's new LA robe iPad Allure (PDF link) is a neoprene sleeve available in one of four colorful, striped designs.
One of four protective accessories from Belkin, the Vue Sleeve for iPad is a neoprene case with a rigid panel for screen protection and a slim, see-through outer pocket for small accessories.
Booq also offers four different iPad cases and bags. The $30 Boa skin XS, shown here in sand, is another neoprene sleeve with a rigid panel for screen protection. The exterior is made of durable nylon.
One of two Cocoon bags for the iPad, the $30 Gramercy Messenger Sling is a water-resistant, messenger-style bag with a removable sleeve for securing pens, sunglasses, and even a point-and-shoot camera. A see-through outer pocket keeps an iPhone or iPod touch visible and accessible.
Hard Candy has announced five protective iPad cases, including the $40 Sleek Skin, which combines a TPU-rubber skin with a rigid, removable screen cover.
Among iLuv's collection of seven cases and three screen protectors is the $40 iCC805, also known as the Casual Fabric Case with Band Clip.
One of two sleeves from LaCie, the $25 ForMoa 10.2" is available in five colors and provides pockets for carrying extra accessories or reading material.
MacAlly has debuted seven cases and several other accessories for the iPad, including the MetroLink, a clear, hardshell case with black-silicone edges for a better grip and some added shock protection.
Known for handcrafted leather products, Orbino offers the $209 Padova Case for the iPad, a leather case with a protective flap that lets you use your iPad without removing it from the case. The flap also acts as a stand.
Skooba's $20 Netbook/iPad Neo-Sleeve is a neoprene sleeve with a couple useful extras: a zippered pocket for accessories and a shoulder strap for hands-free carrying.
Though not made specifically for the iPad, STM's $50 Scout XS is a compact, canvas, messenger-style bag with a protective compartment that will hold an iPad just fine. The Scout also has enough room left over for some accessories and a book...just in case your iPad runs out of juice.
Like the Scout XS, Tom Bihn's $110 Ristretto for iPad/Netbooks is a netbook-sized shoulder bag that should fit an iPad perfectly. You also get plenty of pockets for accessories, keys, pens, a water bottle, and more.
Like Orbino, Vaja makes premium, handcrafted leather accessories. The $120 Retro Slim Jacket for Apple iPad is a slim case with a magnetic closure; you choose the base and trim colors.
One of four Waterfield iPad cases, the $59 Smart Case is a rigid sleeve, available in six colors, with a low-profile pocket that can hold your iPad's USB cable and power adapter.
Yes, it's a real product. No comment.
