MobileMe galleries are kind of like exclusive showcases, or fancy private Flickr pages. There's no way to search, so unless you know someone's MoblieMe username, it's hard to figure out if your friends even have one. Thankfully, Apple is attempting to make users' lives a tad easier by implementing a "Contacts" feature into the newest version of the MobileMe Gallery app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Version 1.1, which was released on Tuesday, gives you the option of adding friends' galleries alongside your own. The app automatically searches your iPhone or iPod touch's contacts list for MobileMe members with active galleries, and then allows you to choose which ones you'd like to add to your friends list. You can also manually enter in a user's name. Of course, you'll have to have your own MobileMe account to access the app.
The 1.1 update is free from the iTunes Store and requires an iPod Touch or iPhone running 3.1 or later.
