MapQuest Gets an Upgrade
Among the new and enhanced features are a single search box for driving directions, online maps and business listings alike, as well as a revamped log-in mechanism to MapQuest accounts that now accepts credentials not only from AOL but also OpenID, Yahoo, Google, Facebook and Twitter, according to AOL.
AOL has also tried to simplify how users save, personalize and share information, such as trip itineraries, on AOL and also third-party sites and social media services. In addition, MapQuest now integrates content from "hyper-local" content provider Patch.
The upgraded MapQuest site is available by default to what AOL describes as "a small percentage of users" of MapQuest, but anyone can access it at www.new.mapquest.com.
