Did you have a good weekend? Well, don’t get too comfortable, because if your iOS gadget is jailbroken, particularly with Evasi0n, then Apple is about to ruin your good mood. Don’t worry, though; we also have a cute felt Star Wars mobile and news on an interesting hack-a-thon to cheer you up.
David Wang, one of the developers behind the Evasi0n jailbreak software, has warned that Apple’s upcoming iOS update, 6.1.3, will ruin your jailbreak. Presently, Evasi0n exploits five different flaws within iOS 6.1 to carry out a jailbreak, but Apple fixed one of those in iOS 6.1.3. David mentioned that while the team could look for another vulnerability, it’s likely Apple will look for other bugs to patch between now and when it releases the update. [via Gizmodo]
Why get a young child a generic mobile to hang above their crib when you can buy Star Wars one instead? This highly detailed felt mobile by Andrea Burnett features planets, the Death Star, starfighters, the Millennium Falcon, and others. It also costs $380, so get thinking what you can use it for after the kid grows up a little. [via Boing Boing]
Last weekend, 50 teams from around the world came together for The Destruction, an even where teams have 48 hours to build something, take it apart, and build a better version of it. Projects this year include a can crusher, self-destructing chair, and an automatic coffee roaster. Check out all the submissions on the competition’s updates page.
