Droid Incredible Now has Froyo

There's been plenty of buzz this week about Verizon's Droid Incredible and the Android 2.2 upgrade. Now, we're seeing official confirmation that the phone's Froyo fix is finally on the way.

Android Power has learned that Verizon has just updated its Web site to list the Droid Incredible as having Android 2.2. The change can be seen on the Incredible's product page at VerizonWireless.com (click on the image to read it):

Verizon's phone-based sales reps are also now telling customers new Droid Incredible devices will come with Android 2.2 upon activation.

Earlier on Thursday, two separate Android blogs published screenshots said to be from Verizon's internal systems. The images showed Friday, August 27 as the start of the Incredible's Froyo rollout.

Agents at Verizon's official Twitter support account, meanwhile, have recently started dropping hints that the rollout isn't far away. And a "software update" page discovered on Verizon's Web site has Froyo installation instructions already prepared for Incredible users.

Verizon has yet to officially confirm any exact start date, but all things considered, it sure looks like we're nearing the home stretch. (UPDATE [8/27/10]: As mentioned above, Verizon has now confirmed that the rollout is beginning on Friday, August 27.)
