Trailer for Neil deGrasse Tyson's 'Cosmos' makes science look dramatic

You think of science shows on TV, you probably don't think of slow-motion montages, but that didn't stop the creators of the official trailer for Neil deGrasse Tyson's upcoming revival of 1980's Cosmos miniseries.

This new take on the classic miniseries will air on Fox sometime in 2014, and will run for 13 episodes, with Tyson serving as the narrator.

The whole 3-minute, 24-second epic made an appearance at this year's ComicCon, and it's more Hollywood flash than stereotypical "science," but that's probably the whole point—after all, science is plenty badass in its own right. It also seems to make the broader point that science is all around you, whether you realize it or not.

Explosions! Space! Neil deGrasse Tyson! Now if only the all-seeing eye at the end wasn't so unnerving...
