In the air tonight

The new iPad models are here, and we have a generous helping of new cases to help celebrate the arrival.

Belkin

Dubbed “the ultimate keyboard case,” the Qode (iPad Air; $80 to $130) incorporates a rechargeable Bluetooth keyboard and a viewing stand—the perfect companions to your tablet when you’re on the road and need to do more than just consume content.

The case comes in three models: ultimate, thin, and slim-style, the last available in black, red, topaz, sorbet, or purple.

Cygnett

The Node (iPad Air; $40) puts a modern and minimalist spin on the folio design, with corner straps and a simple elastic closure. The case, available in brown or grey, keeps your iPad safe from bumps and scratches.

The Node’s front cover also flips around to double as a viewing or typing stand in landscape orientation.

iLuv

The Simple Folio (iPad Air; $40) aims for simplicity, with a streamlined design that employs soft, but durable, materials to keep your tablet safe.

The case, which comes in red or black, also features a cover that flips around to double as a viewing or typing stand in landscape orientation.

Kensington

The Comercio (iPad Air; £35) is a folio-style case with added protection on the corners and sides, which, according to the company, are the most vulnerable areas of your tablet.

The case comes in black, denim blue, dermal black, olive, plum, red, or slate grey.

Miniot

The Cover (iPad mini; $79 to $92) protects the screen of your tablet with a layer of high-quality felt and fine wood veneer for a luxurious, natural look.

In addition to being compatible with the iPad mini’s magnetic sleep/wake feature, the case also doubles as a viewing stand, and is available in walnut, cherry, mahogany, wenge, or louro faia.

Moshi

The Concerti (iPad mini; $45) is a folio case made from a hybrid silicone/microfiber material that protects against shocks and scratches.

The case features a convenient strap that keeps the front cover, which also doubles as a viewing or typing stand at multiple angle, closed during transport.

Portenzo

The Alano (iPad mini; $100) encases your tablet in a custom-molded wood frame, protected with a high-quality, book-bound cover that’s compatible with the iPad mini’s magnetic sleep/wake feature and doubles as a viewing stand in landscape orientation.

The case comes in seven different colors, and nine different styles. It can also be customized with an optional embossed engraving, a soft-seal camera cover, and a dedicated stylus compartment.

STM

The Cape (iPad Air; $40) weighs just 160 grams and provides excellent protection for your tablet, thanks to a hardshell back complemented by a flip-around cover that also doubles as a viewing or typing stand in landscape orientation.

The case comes in black, red, grey, or blue.

WaterField

The Outback Solo (iPad Air; $69) wants to be your catch-all carrying bag, with room for an iPad, an iPhone, chargers, and a wallet.

The case is made of tan waxed canvas, neoprene, and top-grade leather, and comes with an optional shoulder strap for easy carrying while you’re on the go.
