Free DeskNotes Creates "Sticky" Reminders, Syncs With Outlook

DeskNotes is the high-tech version of everyone's favorite low-tech reminder system, the yellow "sticky notes" that litter the cubicles and desktops of people everywhere. As you would hope for in a sticky notes program, it lets you create notes and move them around with ease. But this open source desktop utility also goes beyond what you would expect, with the ability to send notes via e-mail, and synchronize with Outlook.

With DeskNotes, you can easily create and move notes around your desktop.

To create a note, simply press Ctrl-N, or else right-click the program's icon in the System Tray and select New. You can also right-click a note and select New from the DeskNotes menu as well. A bright yellow note area appears. Type in your text, and you're done. You can resize the note, reposition the note, delete the note, change its font and text size, change the background color of notes, and so on. You can also change those defaults as well.

There's a lot more you can do as well, including attaching a reminder to a note, for example if you need to be reminded of an appointment or deadline. You can also insert a timestamp and e-mail your notes, hide them, and synchronize them with notes you've created in Microsoft Outlook. You can even paste graphics into them. In short, if you're a fan of paper-based sticky notes, you'll want to give DeskNotes a try because it offers more options than many other similar programs, such as Simple Sticky Notes.
