Keyboard Shortcut: Jump to the Top or Bottom of Any Web Page

Regular Hassle-Free PC readers know that I'm a huge fan of keyboard shortcuts. And I just realized that of all the ones I've shared over the years, I never mentioned two of my favorites.

Very often, while reading a blog or lengthy news item in my browser, I'll want to jump straight to the bottom of the page--or return to the top again. Normally, this would require the mouse, and my default move was always to spin the scroll wheel furiously (to the point where I actually started to wear the sucker out).

Of course, you can also click and drag the scroll bar on the side of the page, but that's a slow and imprecise option--especially if you're using a laptop touchpad.

No, by far the best way to jump to the top or bottom of a Web page is by tapping your Home or End key, respectively.

This works in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer (and probably every other browser as well--those are just the ones I've tested). Try it--I guarantee it'll join your list of favorite shortcuts.
