Video report: Meet Google’s 'Project Tango'

Google has been working over the past year on developing 3-D technology for smartphones. Project Tango looks to let smartphones to create realistic 3-D mapping and virtual experiences—all while a user goes about his or her day.

You can read about Project Tango in more detail over at Greenbot, but in this video report, we’ll show you how a prototype running on a five-inch Android-powered phone uses robotics and computer vision technology to track motion to create a 3D model of the surrounding area.
