All aboard the Chromecast train! Subscribers of the Rhapsody and Napster music services can now cast their tunes right on their TV or home stereo system via Google's affordable streaming dongle.
As with other Chromecast apps, all you have to do is queue up your music on the Rhapsody or Napster Android apps and then tap the Cast icon. Your music is then transferred over to the Chromecast and will play through your TV speakers or home stereo system. Control over playback remains on your Android device.
Rhapsody has always been a proponent of TV integration. It has long had apps available on game consoles, such as the Xbox 360, so that its users could play music right in their living rooms.
Both apps are free, though the Rhapsody and Napster services cost $10/month. Rhapsody also offers a free two-week trial.
