FlexT9 Provides a Bevy of Mobile Input Options for Android

Is the stock Android keyboard not doing it for you? Fear not, for Nuance Communications has announced the Nuance FlexT9 Android app that is designed to help you get your thoughts out.

Flex T9 combines Dragon Dictation, T9 Trace, T9 Write, and XT9 and lets you switch between them at will. Dragon Dictation (already available on iOS devices) allows you to dictate e-mails, SMS text messages, Facebook updates, and so forth, while T9 Write lets you write characters on screen and uses hand writing recognition software to translate them into text. T9 Trace is similar to Swype in that you glide your finger from one letter to another to quickly spell out words and even entire sentences.

For the times when you just want to use a regular keyboard, you can always switch over and use XT9, which is a more standard keyboard option that FlexT9 offers.

FlexT9 looks like it'll be great for people who like to quickly switch between different input options, so it may be worth keeping an eye out for if you are someone who tends to hammer out long text entries on their mobile phone. The app is available for $4.99 from the Android Market and supports Android 2.1 (Éclair) and higher.
