MyTumblr Lets You Manage Your Tumblr From Your Phone

I don't pretend to understand Tumblr. Though it's described as a microblogging service, I can't see how it is any different from a run-of-the-mill blogging environment. I keep reading that Tumblr is easy to set up, easy to use, and free. All of that is undoubtedly true, but so are other blogging services. So I can't really wrap my head around whatever subtle nuance makes Tumblr different from its rivals, but no matter. Tumblr is popular, really popular. So popular, it should come as no surprise that plenty of Tumblr Android apps are out there. MyTumblr is one of them.

MyTumblr is a fine app that is just as easy to use as the Tumblr Website. From the home page of the app, you can view the dashboard (that is, the tool for viewing all the different Tumblr blogs you follow), your Tumblr blog, and messages you have received and sent. Naturally there are also options for content creation, and settings.

Tumblr's own Android app works well, too, but I prefer MyTumblr by a hair. I like the format of MyTumblr over that of the Tumblr Android app, although that's largely a matter of taste. MyTumblr also includes some additional features in the settings, such as being able to send content to Twitter. In the standard Tumblr app, the advanced options for posting are on a separate page, whereas MyTumblr has them on the same one as your post. Both are fine apps, but I would recommend people give MyTumblr a shot for all those cat photos, or whatever it is on the Internet that they want to share.
