Android News collects information from Web articles and Android-related message boards, and displays several topics for you to browse: Android Headlines, Android Phone (1 and 2), Tablet, Netbook, Market, Apps, Google Android News, Security Flaws, OS, Prototype, and SDK (software development kit). Some of the categories are less than clear; for instance, I couldn't help but wonder what the difference is between 'Android Phone (1)' and 'Android Phone (2)'.

I'm less concerned about category coherence than I am about content, however, and Android News provides a wealth of information for Android users. It has something for everyone, from people considering purchasing a new phone to developers looking to keep up with the latest developments in the Android operating system. Not all the information you come across in Android News will necessarily be helpful; sometimes you'll find a question from a message board that never receives an answer. But that is also part of the appeal of Android News, the diversity of sources and viewpoints that it draws from.

The app's display is sparse and leaves a little to be desired. If that doesn't bother you, and you're seeking a straightforward, utilitarian app that provides information on Android features, Android News is worth checking out.
