Yeah, neither do I. But I was born in the mid-80's, about a decade after the Atari 2600 made its epic debut in 1977. Anyway, for those of you who do remember (or for those of you who rock the retro-chic…er, I mean, retro-geek), check out this DIY Atari joystick jewelry box by Instructables user annahowardshaw.
The jewelry box is a fairly accurate impression of the original Atari joystick, and features two compartments. You can even use the "stick" part of the jewelry box (it's a wooden dowel) as a ring holder.
If you want to make your own Atari joystick jewelry box, you'll need some decent woodworking skills. But it's a pretty sweet project that will make a great gift for your geeky girlfriend (or a place to store your trinkets and/or game cartridges, if you're a girl).
