Mass Effect 2 'Arrival' Download Arrives

The Reapers are coming, and I don't mean tomorrow, but right now, as in today. BioWare's final piece of downloadable content for Mass Effect 2, dubbed 'Arrival', is live and buyable for the PC, PlayStation Store and Xbox Live for about $7.

Mass Effect 2's swan song installment involves a deep cover agent who's gone MIA in Batarian space (the Batarian's would be the series' disreputable four-eyed aliens) after forecasting a Reaper invasion (the Reapers are the series' organic spaceship race that lure entire species to their doom).

You play as Commander Shepard, of course, traveling to "the edge of the galaxy" to rescue the agent and--drum roll--uncover the truth behind invasion claims.

Up for grabs? A few new research tracks and three new achievements/trophies.

Some claim the expansion only runs out to about an hour. I can't independently verify that (I have yet to finish the original game, in fact) but BioWare has something of a reputation for releasing mediocre expansion packs. Forewarned is forearmed.
