Want to buy an iPad 2? You might not have to wait too much longer, it seems.
Apple has reduced the estimated shipping time for the device from two to three weeks to one to two weeks, on both its UK and US online stores.
Though a lucky few managed to get their hands on the iPad 2 on its UK launch day, online orders had been pushed back to two to three weeks in the early hours of the morning of Friday 25 March.
By the end of the iPad 2's UK launch weekend, the waiting times were three to four weeks. Earlier this month, it dropped to two to three weeks again.
Supplies of the iPad 2 have been hit by a number of delays, though Apple said that the earthquake and tsunami had not impacted iPad stocks in yesterday's financial results call.
Apple's chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer did say, though, that the company would have liked to have manufactured more to meet high levels of demand.
"We sold every iPad 2 we could make in the quarter and we would have liked for the quarter to have ended with more iPads in the channel," Oppenheimer said.
Those wanting to buy an iPad 2 through Apple can get the Wi-Fi only 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models for £399.00, £479.00 and £559.00 inc VAT respectively. For the Wi-Fi + 3G models you will pay £499.00, £579.00 and £659.00 inc VAT.
