VersionTracker Pro's desktop app shows you a simple, Windows-Explorer-like window with a few panes. The left pane lets you choose whether to look at installed software, installed drivers, new software available, or download history. Most users will spend the majority of their time on the installed software option, which shows a list of all installed programs in the largest (top right) pane. VersionTracker Pro places software for which a new version is available at the top of the list, and it shows the old version number in red.

The bottom right pane of VersionTracker shows the newest version and information about the file highlighted in the pane above it. VersionTracker provides a wealth of useful information, including system requirements, version number of the latest version, information about the developer and the type of software license, and a description of the software. This new version may actually be a beta, so it's a good idea to read up on the software and decide if you want to upgrade. If you do want to upgrade, you can double-click the name of your software to make VersionTracker Pro download the software for you (or, in some cases, go to the site where you can download it); clicking the "Launch File" button in VersionTracker's popup window starts the installation.

Note: This free version performs only one complete scan with registration; after that, it requests registration for a five-day trial. To continue using the product, consider buying the full license.
