Valentine Fireworks

Getting tired of hearts and flowers? Here's a new idea: Celebrate Valentine's Day with fireworks. This screen saver stands out from the rest--there's no sappy music, no cupids, no lace doilies. Fireworks shoot up from the bottom of your screen and explode into brilliant heart shapes, accompanied by realistic sound effects.

You can change the background from the default moving clouds--which is very realistic and quite pretty--to static images that include gemstone hearts, trippy 60s hearts, and even a hearts-and-flowers background if you're so inclined. You can also change the background tint. For instance, I kept the default, selected a pure red tint, and ended up with a creepy and fun "my bloody valentine" effect.

3D Valentines Fireworks would make a nice gift for anyone who enjoys a little offbeat romance. If you download the 3-day demo, you might find yourself ponying up the $10 registration fee.
