That's because this tiny utility can selectively disable the Windows key only when you're running a fullscreen application (read: game), and then reenable it when you're done playing and need to get back to work--something the hardware switch on the G15 can't do. It can also disable keys on the keyboard that power off the PC or put it into sleep mode, disable the caps-lock button, and force the Num Lock key to remain enabled all the time.
Hardcore gamers aren't the only beneficiaries of these features: If you remotely access PCs over the network for example, you can prevent your remote control application from being disrupted in the same way and, maybe, learn to love (or at least, not hate) your Windows key.
