As with Notepad, you can open only one document at a time. You can, however, easily open another Super Editor session to work on two documents simultaneously. In addition, Super Editor offers formatting options like paragraph alignment, bold, italics, and underlining. You can also add color to your text and change the font.

Super Editor can't deal with Microsoft Word documents, but it can save files in a wide range of formats, including .txt, .html, .rtf, .java, and more. And it opens HTML and XML documents with ease, so you could use it for hand-coding if you wish.

A spelling checker function is included--but you need to have Microsoft Word installed, and it seems to be a bit buggy. There's also a calendar feature, a very basic Web browser, and an encryption-decryption tool. All in all, it seems like a good deal for only $10; it's worth downloading the trial version to see if you can live with its quirks.
