The old-time IRC (Internet Relay Chat) Internet protocol is alive
and well, with countless people using it for chats and exchanging
files every day. IRC will never be accused of being simple, but
this easy-to-use, free client will net you participate in it
without a problem. You won't have to know special commands; just
run the program, connect to an IRC server and channel, and you're
ready to start chatting. If you're not clear on what to do, a
toolbar full of icons lets you accomplish whatever IRC task you
want.
Even with this program, IRC can be challenging, but the IceChat
Web site has plenty of help. Particularly useful is the
IRC basics Web page, an excellent introduction to IRC and how
to use it.
Note: This link takes you to the vendor's site, where you
can download the latest version of the software.
