Samsung's Galaxy S II is finally arriving in the United States. Here's a look at the AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile versions of the Android phone.

Samsung has unveiled the U.S. versions of its Samsung Galaxy S II Android smartphone, which has been available in other parts of the world for months. The superphone will arrive in various flavors, coming to Sprint as the Epic 4G Touch, and retaining its original name for AT&T and T-Mobile. The three versions will have slight variations; here's a rundown of the differences.

Sprint's version of the Galaxy S II has a 4G WiMax radio, and will be available starting September 16 for $199 with a two-year contract.

The slender Epic 4G Touch has a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA display, as well as dual cameras: a 2-megapixel one on the front and an 8-megapixel camera at the rear.

The phone runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and has 16GB of on-board memory. An HDTV adapter and dock for playing back HD videos on a TV will be sold separately.

All three versions of the phone run Android 2.3 with Samsung's TouchWiz UI, and will come preloaded with the Media Hub service for accessing movies and TV shows.

AT&T didn't say when its version of the Galaxy S II would come out, other than releasing a teaser for "the coming weeks." It didn't specify the price, either.

AT&T's Galaxy S II has a smaller, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, but it's also thinner than Sprint's version (8.89 millimeters versus 9.65 millimeters; pictured compared with an HTC Sensation 4G). T-Mobile didn't say how thin its version is.

The AT&T and Sprint Galaxy S II versions use Samsung's own dual-core processor called Exynos, which is optimized for performance on the devices. Some international models use Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset.

T-Mobile kept its Galaxy S II variant in a glass box, and skimped on the specifications, availability information, and pricing.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S II sports the same Super AMOLED Plus 4.5-inch display as the Sprint variant, but it has a slightly curvier design. The same 8- and 2-megapixel rear and front cameras are available, too.
