Online shopping can be great; you don’t have leave the comfort of your home, you can shop whenever you please, and you avoid crowds that drive most people crazy. While online shopping is great for most products, buying clothes online presents a challenge; you can’t try anything on. You could always go out to a store, try on the clothes you want, and then order them online, but that pretty much defeats the point of online shopping.
Finally, we have a solution: Bodymetrics’ new 3D Body Scanner with PrimeSense takes precise measurements of your body which can be used to help you find the right size online and in stores. This is the first full 3D scanner of its kind and uses eight PrimeSense 3D sensors to map out the body.
Once your measurements are recorded by the scanner, they can be stored online for retailers to access. With your measurements clothing stores can recommend sizes and types of cuts that best fit your body, stopping you from buying the wrong size ever again. The scanner was launched this week at New Look, a clothing retailer, in a shopping center in the United Kingdom.
Bodymetrics says that its scanner is much cheaper than previous body scanning technology and can easily be installed into any retail store.
Personally, I can’t wait to never buy the wrong size jeans ever again.
