CyberMax Enthusiast KII-350

CyberMax Enthusiast KII-350

SUMMARY

CyberMax

www.cybermaxpc.com

BEST USE: If game performance isn't important, the CyberMax will fill the home PC role adequately.

WHAT'S HOT: With six open drive bays and three open slots, the Enthusiast is one of the two most expandable systems. Its 3D sound and subwoofered speakers make for thunderous game play. They also enhance movies played on the system's 4.8X DVD-ROM drive. The easy-open case is roomy, and the keyboard is one of the best.

WHAT'S NOT: The below-average performance scores and a smallish 4GB hard drive don't impress us. The Shamrock CX 5095 15-inch monitor has the worst picture quality of any we tested. Since it is coupled with less than stellar 3D performance, the Enthusiast's gaming aspirations seem far-flung. The lack of a setup sheet and the limited scope of the users guide make setup a real trial. The reset button on the front of the system is too easily hit by mistake.

VALUE: A few nice components get shot in the foot by more not-so-nice components and a poor out-of-the-box experience.
