Samsung's ready to unpack the Galaxy Note 4 on September 3

Samsung is finally going to ‘unpack’ the Galaxy Note 4 in September.

The company sent out a note-themed invite Tuesday for the second of its 2014 Unpacked events, which will happen simultaneously in New York, Berlin, and Beijing. (The first Unpacked event of the year being the Galaxy S5 launch.)

September 3 has been the speculated date for the Note 4 since May, given multiple leaks and Samsung’s tendency to announce the new phablet at this time each year.

The Galaxy Note line popularized the concept of a phablet, a device that falls in-between the traditional size of a smartphone and tablet. The Galaxy Note 4 is rumored to get a UV Sensor that would connect to the company’s S Health app.

As is the habit for Samsung, expect the introduction of other phones and potentially smartwatches at the event. During an earnings call in July, Samsung executive Kim Hyun-Joon tried to assuage unhappy investors with the promise of new phones, a fairly standard practice in the world of Samsung.

When the Note goes on sale it could have additional competition in the form of the LG G3 Stylus, which its manufacturer accidently (or not?) leaked at the end of a promotional video for another device.
