Notch’s Minicraft Now Ported to Android Devices

A few weeks back, Minecraft creator Markus Persson (aka Notch) created a micro spin-off of his popular Minecraft game called Minicraft for the 48-hour make-a-game-from-scratch Ludum Dare Competition. Now it seems that Minicraft has been unofficially ported by a developer with the addition of game saves and cheats.

While the port comes unofficially from the developer Folstad Consulting, it is being offered as a free download on the Android Market. The game is still all about exploring, gathering resources, crafting tools and weapons, whacking zombies, and ultimately finishing the game by slaying the Air Wizard.

The developer added a few new features including touchscreen controls, a save system so that random slime won’t kill you when you're 6 hours into the game, and cheats that add gem weapons and pickaxes. It’s not quite perfect just yet and the developer says that it's still fine-tuning the movement controls.

If anything, this could make Minicraft 2 (renamed MiniTale) even more promising as a game that might make its way onto mobile devices.
