Fructel’s Gametel Controller Brings Physical Controls To Phones and Tablets

As a mobile gamer, I know how frustrating touchscreen controls can be. They are often inaccurate and hard to use--and don’t even get me started on virtual joysticks and D-pads.

The guys at Fructel seem to agree, so they developed the Gametel to hopefully do away with virtual controls once and for all. This small accessory works on Android smartphones running Android 2.1 or later, as well as on the iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad.

The Gametel is completely wireless: It uses Bluetooth to pair with your smartphone or tablet. It features a standard four-button D-pad, four face buttons, and two shoulder buttons. While the Gametel doesn’t work for all apps, it does work for big titles like Asphalt 5 HD, Cordy, Reckless Getaway, and Zenonia.

Fructel hasn't announced US pricing or a release date as of this writing, but Fructel hopes to bring the Gametal to market in the near future.
