Internet of Things Printer Gives You a Stock-Ticker of Tweets

[Photo: Adafruit Industries]Sick of staring at a monitor all day and ready to bring a little bit of paper back into your life? If so, the tiny new Internet of Things printer has your number. The printer can print out a feed of just about any stream of data--from your tweets to sports scores----thanks to some open source software.

The Internet of Things printer is a new project from DIY tech company Adafuit. Like all projects available through Adafruit, the Internet of Things printer requires you to do a little bit of soldering and programming with the Arduino platform. But once you're done with the technical nitty-gritty, you’ll have an adorable printer that can spit out anything you can think of onto a roll of 2.5-inch reciept paper.

The printer has more than a few similarities with the Little Printer created by design firm BERG last year. Both printers automatically collect various types of data down and print it for you to peruse later. But while the Little Printer is still waiting to make the leap from design into reality some time this year Adafruit’s printer is available for you to purchase, and assemble, today.

If you want to try your hand at building an Internet of Things printer, get $90 ready and head over to the Adafruit store. And check out some of the other great DIY tech projects while you're there.
