Givit Enables Private Video Sharing

Givit is an iOS and Android app that lets you store and privately share videos with anyone who has access to email and a browser. It solves an obvious gap in the video-sharing market. YouTube is great for sharing videos with the world, but its private sharing options are cumbersome, and Skype works only for real-time video conversations.

Your Givit account details are available on your iPad, from which you can create and share videos.

Givit provides the convenience of sharing videos across devices privately, so only the people you send it to can view it. Last December Givit launched its iPhone and iPad apps, and in January its Android app. There are companion desktop apps for Mac and Windows.

Video is an increasingly attractive medium for marketing and communication as devices from desktops to smartphones can capture good-quality videos. A realtor, for example, can take a short video of a property to share with interested buyers, and a manager can update their team with a short weekly video.

Givit is available as a desktop app on the PC and Mac, and is accessible via your browser.

Givit steps in once you've captured the video, although you can also use it to start the capture. You then select a recipient from your address book and send the video to them. Givit uploads the video, emails your message, and transcodes it. When your recipient receives the message, the video they view will be optimized for their device.

Videos on Givit.com are stored securely and are available any time for viewing. A user just needs to log in to view the videos shared with them. For now, Givit is free, with premium packages for $29.99 up to $99.99 per year for between 10GB nd 50GB of storage.
